On Saturday in Colorado, the El Paso County Sherriff’s Office announced that it had made four arrests in connection with the deaths of two teenagers. The arrests came on the same day as one of the victim’s funeral. On Saturday authorities had five people in custody connected to the double homicide.
Two Colorado teens, who attended Coronado High School, were found dead on March 12, along a rural road in El Paso. The victims were Natalie Partida, 16, and Derek Greer, 15, reports ABC News. Greer’s memorial service was held the same day as the four arrests were made.
The news of the four arrests was made in a press release from the sheriff’s office. Those arrested were Diego Chacon, 18, Joseph Arthur Rodriguez, 18, Marco Antonio Garcia-Bravo, 20, and Alexandra Marie Romero, 20.
Chacon faces two charges of second-degree kidnapping, child abuse, aggravated robbery, and two charges of first-degree murder. Rodriguez faces two charges of second-degree kidnapping, child abuse, aggravated robbery, two charges of first-degree murder, and accessory. Garcia-Bravo faces two charges of second-degree kidnapping, child abuse, aggravated robbery, and two charges of first-degree murder. Romero faces charges of second-degree kidnapping and accessory, reports KDVR FOX 31.
The two teens were found dead on the shoulder of Old Pueblo Road not far from Hanover Road. Authorities in Colorado arrested Gustavo Marquez, 19, on Monday. Marquez is a suspect in the teen’s deaths. According to officials, Marquez was arrested just a few weeks prior to the teen’s murders for attacking and attempting to kidnap a woman, reports KRDO News Channel 13.
Authorities said they believe the key players in this double homicide are now in custody, but they do not rule out the possibility that there could be more arrests as the investigation continues.
A memorial for Natalie and Derek on Old Pueblo Road continues to grow.
John Kincaid a friend of Greer’s says that they weren’t blood-related, but he considered him a brother. The pair grew up together and were best friends. Kincaid adds that Greer was “awesome” and was always happy.
Kincaid shared that Greer and Natalie Partida were very close. He says that he loved her and that she made him happy. He went on to say that over the past year Greer and Kincaid started going to a lot of parties.
The Sheriff’s office is asking that anyone with information about the Colorado teen’s murders call 1-719-390-5555.
