Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, has said she will vote for the filibuster to block the Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, vote. Gorsuch needs 60 votes to avoid a filibuster, and it seems more likely that he will note find the votes.
McCaskill is the first Democrat who will be up for reelection next year, according to The Hill, and this decision has the potential to keep her from being reelected next year. She is a Democrat in a state Trump carried by double digits.
Her reason for voting for the filibuster, she says Neil Gorsuch shows a stunning lack of humanity. She fears that he has the ideology that will always end up with the little guy being stepped on by corporations.
