In the last few weeks, Harry Styles released his first solo single since his group One Direction went on hiatus. This release comes as part of the preparation for the singer’s solo album debut which is set to drop on May 12. With so much happening with the singer, it makes sense that he is sitting down for interviews and talking about not only his upcoming album, but also his roots and the group that helped launch his career.
According to Variety, while discussing his new single and upcoming album, Harry Styles was asked about his time with One Direction and whether or not there was any chance he and the other members would consider getting back together. Apparently, it was actually Styles who made the suggestion that the band needed to take a break. The singer explained that he did not want his group to end up exhausting their fan base.
Harry Styles explained that, if they were shortsighted, they might of thought, ‘Let’s just keep touring,’ but the guys thought too much of each other, and the group to let that happen. The singer shared that they all realized that they were exhausted and the reality is that they did not want to end up draining the fans belief in them as a group or even as individuals.
However, even though the members of One Direction may have been tired and ready to take a break from touring and the group, that does not mean that there is no hope for the future. In fact, Harry Styles admits that he has some very fond memories of his time with the group and he will not dismiss the chances of the guys coming together again in the future. The singer said that he loves One Direction and he would never rule out a chance that something could, at some point in the future, come together, because for him, the band helped to change his life. He made it clear that One Direction gave him “everything.”
While the members of One Direction may have all gone their separate ways, that does not mean that there is no chance of a reunion. As Harry Styles points out, this is how they all started and there are plenty of good memories to look back on. For fans of the singer though there is plenty to look forward to with his solo debut album set to debut on May 12, plus there is also his new single, Sign of the Times, which recently released to plenty of praise.
