One of the most beloved fictional universes, the wizard world of the Harry Potter series, is one which has seen the creation of more than just books, there are also movies and even a theme park of sorts. With the series offering everything that a child, teenager and even an adult could want, from unique creatures, magic and friendship, it makes sense that Universal Studios chose to capitalize on the phenomenon that is the world of Harry Potter. However, this year that experience is going to be even better at the Orlando Universal Studios, as they have announced that they will be offering a very special Christmas themed update to the park.
According to a report from Cinema Blend, it was officially revealed that there will be a Christmas theme for their attractions for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This special holiday event will be a massive undertaking for the park as they work to transform the themed attractions into a Christmas wonderland suitable for the books.
There will be four specific elements of this transformation that will occur at Universal Studios Orlando. First up will be a massive aesthetic change which will transform the Wizarding World of Harry Potter into a winter wonderland, complete with fake snow and decorations. There will also special lighting effects that will be used on the Hogwarts attractions to build on the overall aesthetics. Stepping away from Hogwarts, Christmas will be heading to Diagon Alley as well, as they plan to offer both entertainment and special foods that will be curated straight from the movies.
While the Harry Potter series may not have anything that inherently screams Christmas and the holidays, that is not to say that it does not play a rather large part in the narrative. For anyone who has read the books, seen the movies or both, it is well known that some of the most endearing moments in the stories revolve around the Christmas holiday. The holiday has even been a part of some of the more important moments in building up individual characters.
For fans who have seen Christmas brought to life on the big screen in the Harry Potter movies, the Universal Studios experience is a chance to actually experience for one’s self. This is an opportunity to immerse one’s self not only in the magic that is the Wizarding World, but also in the Christmas season as part of that universe.
