Boston was in no position to fall in the hole 0-3 when it came to the third game of the series. After a strong start to the series by the Bulls there would be no strong finish. The Celtics came back strongly, taking a win in Game 3, 4, and 5. Heading into the sixth game of the series there was a huge momentum shift for the Bulls.
Chicago’s team came to the realization that they no longer had the lead of the series. They were facing elimination. Boston led the series 3-2. All the Celtics needed was one more win to advance, and they had two opportunities to do so. On the other hand, the Bulls had to win two consecutive games, in Game 6 and 7 or their season would be over. There would be no Game 7 for the Bulls. They did not make it that far to say the least.
The Chicago Bulls could not walk away with a victory in Game 6, according to Chicago Tribune. It was no close, or back and forth game either. Nothing seemed to be working correctly on the court for the Bulls. Leading Chicago to a win in Game 6 was a task that not even Jimmy Butler could complete for his team.
As the clock ticked out, the Bulls lost by a landslide. They suffered one of their biggest losses of the postseason. The Boston Celtics blew them out 105-83. Boston held their lead through most of the game but the third quarter is when they really started to expand it.
By the end of the game, the Celtics left the Bulls to 22 points unanswered for. They simply outplayed Chicago’s team. It may be a loss that the Bulls remember for a while. The Celtics are the reason they will not be advancing to the second round of the postseason.
