Perhaps one of the biggest movie stars in the world at this time is Dwayne Johnson. Not only is he part of a major action franchise in the form of the Fast and Furious movies, but nearly every film he is attached to is considered to be a blockbuster. Not only is he consistently busy, with his name attached to multiple movies at any given time, but he is seemingly always part of at least one blockbuster per year, if not more.
According to a report from Cinema Blend, it would seem that Dwayne Johnson has a very good reason for why he is always working on the big movies that come out every year. Apparently the actor is drawn to these movies because for him it is about doing work that has value to it.
In a recent interview, Dwayne Johnson said that he loves being able to create both the bigger television shows as well as the big movies that not only help to entertain viewers, but also makes them happy. He went on to explain that he understands what it is like to “earn a dollar.” The actor said that he knows what it means to live from paycheck to paycheck. He said that he knows what it feels like to wonder how the rent is going to be paid for the month. Johnson even shared that he knows what it is like to be evicted from your home.
It is because of all of this that Dwayne Johnson pointed out that “money doesn’t fall out of the sky.” The actor said that if a person is going to pay for a ticket to see one of his movies then he wants to make sure it is worth it for that individual to head to the theater. It is this knowledge of what it means to struggle financially that inspires the actor to want to make movies that are great and worth paying to go see.
For fans of the actor, it probably comes as no surprise that the actor is consistently busy on the bigger movies of the year. In 2017, Dwayne Johnson has three blockbusters for audiences to enjoy. The first of the year was Fate of the Furious which topped the box office in its debut. His second is the upcoming Baywatch movie with costar Zac Efron. Finally, his third major offering of the year is the reboot of Jumanji, which he is currently working on. With so many projects already under his belt, it makes sense that he will continue to be attached to the bigger movies and larger productions as they come around.
What do you think of the actor’s reasoning? Do you think it makes sense that he wants to make sure that every movie he is a part of offers value to the viewers? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
