In a candid interview, Miley Cyrus shared that she has given up smoking marijuana so that she can get ready for the release of her latest album. Cyrus told Billboard that she hasn’t smoked pot in three weeks. She adds that she isn’t drinking or doing drugs. She said she is completely clean and that is exactly what she wants to be, reports the Los Angeles Times.
She said she wants to surround herself with individuals that will help and inspire her to grow and get better. Miley told Billboard that she knew exactly where she wanted to be and that she wanted to be “super clear and sharp” when she gets there. Cyrus, 24, said she has outgrown her “Dead Petz” phase, which saw her parade around in a unicorn costume with a fake penis.
Cyrus was very involved in last year’s elections. She went door to door for Hillary Clinton. Miley dedicates a song to Clinton on her latest album. She said during the 2016 election, she found her political voice. She said that voice reached beyond her tight circle of outspoken liberal friends, reports KJ 103 iHeart Radio.
Cyrus said she loves to talk with people who she disagrees with, but she does not think she can do that in an aggressive way. She went on to say people aren’t going to get her message if she is wearing nipple pasties. She has discovered that she wants to help bring about real change and not just preach to the choir.
Miley Cyrus has appeared to have really grown up, and she hopes her new album reflects that change. She also hopes people understand that she doesn’t give a f*ck, but that she also realizes that now is not the time to not give a f*ck about people, reports Breitbart. After the election, Cyrus used Facebook to share an emotional message, in which she congratulated Trump on his win.
Miley Cyrus’ new album is due out later this year, right now it remains untitled. The first single from the album “Malibu” will be released on May 11. Malibu is a love song that she is dedicating to her fiancée Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus and Hemsworth got back together in 2016 after splitting up in 2013. She said she had changed so much while she and Hemsworth were apart that they had to fall for each other all over again.
