Travis Scott is known for putting on amazing shows that involve high energy and exciting audience engagement, but the same elements that make the rapper a fan favorite to see live is the same thing that gets the rapper in a heap of trouble, The 25-year-old rapper was arrested the night of May 13 for inciting a riot in Rogers, Arkansas, among other things.
Usually at the end of a concert the performer closes with a popular song, thanks the audience and loads into a tour bus to head on the way to the next stop, but Travis Scott’s concert ended with him in cuffs. Concertgoers were told by the artist to get closer to the stage, even if that meant bypassing normal security protocols, which resulted in a few injuries that included a pair of security guards and a cop. According to Complex, Travis Scott stated before getting hauled away “All I want is peace and love.” The reasoning as to why he encouraged fans to ignore the standard procedure is because he wanted people with general admission tickets to get a better view of the show, which is understandable because the Goosebumps singer loves his fans and does everything in his power to make his show a great experience. However, this is probably not the best way to go about improving the concert experience, especially if you’ve been arrested for the exact same thing before.
That’s right, this is the second time Travis Scott has been arrested for an incident like this. Although this time he was booked for disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of a minor, and inciting a riot, in 2015 the G.O.O.D Music star was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct that resulted in a stampede and a few injuries at Lollapalooza in Chicago. The incident apparently didn’t teach him much.
This comes after his romance with newly single Kylie Jenner has been said to be more than just a fling. The two have been seen every week together since Coachella, from concerts to club appearances. According to TMZ, this just isn’t a publicity stunt like the brief one with PartyNextDoor a while ago, it’s the real deal. Kylie isn’t using Scott as a rebound from Tyga, things are apparently getting serious because sources have reported that Kylie has met the artist’s family and he is seeing Kylie exclusively, which is an extremely big deal this day and age. Hopefully Jenner can convince her new boo to follow the rules when it comes to his live performances, even though we know he means well.
