Kayleigh McEnany, a former CNN commentator, is helping Donald Trump attempt to end democracy. McEnany is hosting a video on the president’s personal Facebook page that is being called “real news,” but feels much more like a state run media video instead.
The video begins with McEnany thanking viewers for joining them as the show will bring people news from around the world from Trump Tower in New York. During the video, McEnany is seen in front of Trump’s presidential campaign logo, according to The Hill.
In the report, she talks about the economy adding 209,000 jobs last month and that the country’s unemployment rate had fallen to 4.3 percent. Trump touted the strong numbers, stating that he had just begun. McEnany stated in the 90 second piece that Trump is clearly steering the country’s economy in the right direction. She also talked about the RAISE act that the president introduced Wednesday, stating that for decades rises in immigration has seen the American workers wages decline. This legislation is meant to increase wages while decreasing poverty, and saving the American taxpayer billions of dollars. She pushed that President Trump is putting the American worker first because they deserve a raise.
Last week, along with two Republican senators, Trump teamed up for the rollout of the new RAISE act, aimed at curbing legal immigration drastically. It was a shock to some people, since this is aimed at legal immigration and not illegal immigration.
Last week, Lara Trump, the president’s daughter-in-law, presented a “real news” video Donald Trumps president’s Facebook page. In the video she also touted his success.
Some may ask why this is concerning. Well, the feel coming from the news report on the president’s Facebook page has a strong feeling of state news. State news is something the North Korea, China, and Russia provide their citizens. In many cases, it is the only news available, so the public is only given information the state wants them to know, and many times it is full of factual errors or blatantly wrong. Commonly known as propaganda, state news is designed to make the country’s leaders look good, look like they are right and everyone else in the world is wrong, or evil. It is as far from democracy as one can get, and it just shows that Trump is willing to do anything to continue his war on the media, which he continues to defame by calling it “fake news.”
